Also my time of 13.9hrs is pretty much how long it too me to 100% the game, but it would have been longer if I was less familair with monster rancher. The fact its a roguelike means you aren't grinding and farming the way you would in MR2, fusion and train spamming monsters, you're trying to get stats and powers ups ASAP and thats actually more strategic.

So its a pretty clear knockoff of Monster Rancher turned into a somewhat simplified roguelike with cute monster girls standing in for breeds from monster ranches (i.e Shiba Inus are blatantl derived from Tigers and have the same lightning moves, the whales are obviously inspired by Zillas, the slimes share several moves with Jells etc).īut honestly as someone who was massively nostalgic for monster rancher 2, then tried to play it recently and was like 'I aint got time for that shit', I liked this game a lot.
